Mill Road Winter Fair 2011
There will be events and special offers in many of the shops, restaurants and other businesses all along Mill Road, and in some of the side streets, at different times all day. The Mayor will formally open Mill Road Winter Fair at 10.30 at Ditchburn Gardens.
Suzy Oakes was passionate about community, people and Mill Road. Everyone can join in by stopping and holding hands along the length of Mill Road and at 11.00 there will be a minute's silence followed by celebratory applause and music. A team of Parkside Federation students will help orchestrate this event.
This year's Food Fair in Gwydir Street car park will be bigger and better than ever. There will be over 30 stalls offering a fantastic range of food and drink - ready to eat, to take home or to give as gifts. There will be live music all day and look out for the Tombola with prizes donated by the stallholders. Click for more details about the Tombola and to read about The Hot Sausage Company's support for New Directions Service. And look in the Food & Drink category of the Events listings, or use the Search facility, to read about each individual stall as well as food available in Mill Road's shops and restaurants.
Stalls can be found in the marquee on Donkey Common, in Ditchburn Gardens, in Hope Street Yard and in a few other places along the length of Mill Road. The marquee on Donkey Common will open to the public at 10.00. Click on the left to see a map of where these venues are on Mill Road.
This year Mill Road Art will be in the Anglia Ruskin Drama Studio at the bottom of Covent Garden, also on the map. You can see and buy the work of local artists.
