Mill Road Winter Fair is a celebration of community along one of the most diverse and vibrant roads in Cambridge. Usually held on the first Saturday of December, the Fair brings together local businesses and organisations, shops and stallholders, musicians, artists and dancers in one day of festival joy.

Mill Road Winter Fair 2024

The 2024 Fair will be on Saturday 7th December, 10.30am to 4.30pm.

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer for the Fair – from communications, finding performers, setting stuff up, stewarding and just plain old organising – so do get in touch if you’d like to get involved. Applications for stalls and performers will open earlier this year, in July. If you have a question about or idea for the 2024 Fair, please email us.

We also have a number of Fringe events throughout the year, which we’d love you to get involved with.

Summer Shindig

Sunday 14th July, 4-8pm, Romsey Rec/Vinery Road Park

Mill Road Fringe invites you to enjoy a picnic in the park with live music led by the fabulous Colonel Spanky’s Love Ensemble, plus crafts, games and charity stalls.

Poetry Thursdays

Four poetry evenings presented by Mill Road Fringe and Mill Road Poetry Group will take place across the spring and autumn, in partnership with Hot Numbers on Gwydir Street: on 14th March, 30th May, 10th October and 28th November.

Mill Road Winter Fair 2023

The 2023 Fair took place on Saturday 2nd December, 10.30am to 4.30pm. Find out what was on at the 2023 Fair, including events, buskers and stalls. You can also see a map of the Fair, and the 2023 leaflet.

Get involved

The Winter Fair is run entirely by volunteers and we need your donations to help stage it every year. If you would like to get involved or donate, we would very much appreciate it. We need you to help us keep this wonderful Fair going. Donations to Love Mill Road help to fund the Fair, as well as the activities and projects of other Mill Road charities and community organisations, and are eligible for Gift Aid.

We just wanted to say an enormous THANK YOU to all our wonderful traders, paraders, stallholders, performers, volunteers, organisers & sponsors. Especially those who were out in the cold for hours yesterday. We couldn’t do it without you!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Summer Shindig and helped make it such a chilled, happy, family event!

Our AGM was held on Wednesday 22 March 2023 at 7.30pm at Mill Road Baptist Church.

A big, big thank you to everyone who came to the Mill Road Saturdays, and special thanks to all those who helped make it happen – including our amazing sponsors, stallholders, buskers, volunteers & organisers!

The Mill Road Winter Fair Committee were extremely saddened to hear of the death of Allan Brigham. Please take a moment to read our tribute to this remarkable Mill Road ambassador.
