Poetry evening

Last year’s Mill Road Fringe sell-out poetry event proved that spoken word poetry is BIG. It’s relevant, poignant, powerful – and even better when enjoyed in respectful company, in your local café.

Mill Road Fringe is pleased to welcome everyone to Hot Numbers on Gwydir Street for another evening of poetry and prose from 7pm on Thursday 26th October. Entry is free, but numbers are limited so please reserve your seats in advance via Eventbrite.

The format will be a programme of readings by local poets and writers which is curated and led by writer Lottie Walker. Participants include members of local creative writing groups. There may also be some opportunities for new performers to participate, so please do get in touch by emailing [email protected] if you would like to share your work.

However, the best way to get involved is to get yourself a ticket, join the audience and soak up some inspiration. Doors open at 6.30pm, poetry starts at 7pm. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is now sold out. We are amazed and delighted at the huge level of interest, but sorry that so many people will not be able to enjoy the poetry this time. However, there is a waitlist so please do click on the Eventbrite link to add your contact details to the waitlist if you would like to be on it: we will release tickets to those on this list if they become available.

We may also use the waitlist to capture people’s contact details in case there is interest in setting up a regular group in future, but we would seek your permission to use your details in this way.
