Fashion show

The sell-out Mill Road EcoChic Fashion Show in March 2024 was phenomenal. The styling, clothes and catwalk performances were brilliant, and the show was a fabulous celebration of Mill Road’s buzzing vintage shopping scene.

It followed months of meticulous planning. The Mill Road Fringe team kicked off with an idea for a fashion show featuring clothes from the charity shops along Mill Road. Stylists Sinead O’Loghlen, Kitty Williams and Cosmin Diaconu then came on board and spent many days over the autumn and winter months ‘pulling’ clothes from the charity shops and planning possible outfits. All were set aside on racks at the back of the Salvation Army shop. Next came a casting event to select the models, a fitting session to match models with outfits, more fitting sessions to get it right, and more ‘pulling’ until the team knew that everyone was completely comfortable with their selected outfits.

The fashion show party at St Barnabas Church was the culmination of this journey and a tribute to everyone involved. All volunteers. We’ll do it again – maybe in 2026!
